Research
Secondary Research
American drivers drive an average of more than 13,000 miles per year. And this is a country that is very close to nature, and sometimes drivers inevitably have "close contact" with animals. In a year, there were more than 260,000 crashes involving animals, resulting in 12,000 injuries and more than 150 deaths. This is a serious safety issue, not only for animal casualties, but also for humans.
Existing Measures
How to build a platform to guide animals by simulating the ecology, reducing the risk of animal collisions in car accidents?
Prototyping
Ideation
After researching, I analyzed the deer's sensitivity to different media, and tried to explore the possibility of combining the recognition of safety distance and vehicle volume with sending the warning to deers.
Internet of Things
After making a preliminary ideation, I drew a diagram after organizing information, and tried to explore the possibility of using the concept of the Internet of Things to build a platform for deers and drivers. Vehicle, deer, sensor, cctv, and alert, they all represent a part on the chain which influence each other.
Warning to deers system building
This prototype made the product realize the warning to the deer, and remind them without disturbing drivers. And it made me realize that this product should be hidden in order to get closer to the original living environment of the deer.

Design
Many existing wildlife cameras look like this, square and slightly hard. However, this robust shape and material can cause injuries to animals inadvertently encountered.
The material needs to be softer. Even if the deer encounters it, it will not cause harm to the deer, nor to the equipment itself. Then I want to use the round shape, with a protective layer on the outside to protect the lens, and it can be used and resistant to adverse weather conditions.
